Cow Tower Internal Staircase
Description
The Cow Tower is an artillery tower by the River Wensum in Norwich. The brick and flint defensive structure was added to form part of the Norwich city walls in 1398-99. The ground floor was likely to have been a communal dining area for troops. The staircase would have once led to the upper two levels which were used as sleeping quarters.
